I strongly dislike the word "gas" even when it's used for gasoline. To me gas is primarily a state of matter, i.e. not liquid or solid, and gasoline is mostly liquid. It's pretty stupid to call it gas IMO. And I'm tired of people asking me what kind of gas mileage I get. How about infinite?
The worst offense of this kind that I've seen was on CNN that had an article on gas prices with a picture of two semi-truck drivers filling up their tanks and the picture label saying something like "Two truckers
gassing up their trucks...".
