w124 sunroof About to Calk it Shut

I came in today after assessing the damage in my 124's sunroof. It's really not that bad in terms of what's wrong.

However...

It's broken to the point that I can't get it to slide back. I've read enough about sliding roofs to know that the interior liner is taken out by sliding the roof back a little. I can't slide it. It won't slide back. I tipped it up for a second (One side still is able to go up into tilt. The other side has broken lifting arms). When I did this I found out why the one side won't raise. (See the pictures of my broken lifting arms. I managed to get one piece out)

I want to take the whole thing apart (maybe... )

But can I get the liner off without sliding the roof back. I can't get it to slide back because the arms are broken and it won't go down to slide back.

The easy way is to just calk it and forget it. I'm tempted to do that.
