Yikes....that could have been a disaster! I recall Roy mentioning it at the meetup in July....which you weren't at..why not?!

I've been doing essentially non-stop repairs for the past few weeks on my car...and I have more to come, much of it will be rust-fixing...but a lot has been mechanical. I couldn't even drive it tonight because I ran out of time and it was raining on me while working... COLD....as I tried to finish up my injectors.

In the past 3 weeks I have done:

Flex Discs, Center bearing and carrier on my SD
Oil pressure sender on my SD
Replaced Horns back to brand new Bosch stock instead of Stebel horns on my SD
Injector nozzle replacement with bosios (took all day today) on my SD
Primer Pump on my car and the 300D
Valve adjustment on my dad's SD
Vacuum lines re-install on the 300D, some moron messed it up completely
Headlight replacement on 300D
Repaired hood hinge on my dad's SD, it sheared off a pin
Removed fender and Hood to work on hood hinge on his SD
Adjusted the steering play on the 300D, still needs more adjustment

Still to do:

Valve adjustment on 300D
Valve adjustment on my SD
Transmission fluid/filter on my dad's SD
Oil change soon on my car
Inside door handle on my car
Install the nifty beetle fuel filter to block oil in the vac system on all 3 cars
Tons of rust repair on my SD
Get the tires rotated on my SD
Replace rusted out horns on 300D with my old (only used 3 months) stebel horns
Adjust steering more on 300D
Replace glowplugs and possibly the relay on 300D
Switch 300D engine to synthetic oil for winter
Tranny fluid and filter for 300D

At some point I'm going to have to change out my rear axels when the boots fail....and will also consider diff swap to 2.88...and replace diff mount.

It never ends!!!

And, we want to replace the minivan with a 240d stick, and maybe ANOTHER 300D.... We're nuts!
