From my experiance those 'universial' antenna's from you local mcparts dont sit at the angle of the rear panel where the oem antenna sits. So you may have a manual antenna that sticks out to the side rather then sit straight up.
UNLESS.....you get a HIRSCHMANN manual antenna for the W124. Which is what i have. It sits straight up on the angled panel that the base mounts to.
