Oh Geez, you wouldn't want to let the clutch out on a run away engine, (even if you had time enough too get into the car and put it into gear) your apt too be the first diesel MB into space.
I have a pair of bolt cutters handy too nip the hard fuel lines or have the top off the air cleaner and have something ready to block the intake.

You just have to make sure the hook on the switch is hooked properly in the IP. The consequences are ugly if you screw up, but its really not that difficult.
