I feel your pain, I lost my water pump a few days after I flushed the cooling system. The citric acid must compromise the (aged) WP shaft seal. Checking the weep hole for a few days after the flush should be part of the CA flush directions.
Mine died on the highway, luckily I noticed the heat creeping up before I lost the engine... at least you didn't have to pay for a tow.
