No, I am saying that it does parallel cases where people run overseas to do charitable work when there is much work to be done locally. I think that they adopt to have a kid because they cannot have one themselves. However, I tend to believe that PART of the reason they adopt from sinkholes of the world is that it might make a bigger splash than adopting locally. I don't know. Maybe it is just my lack of trust for people but somehow, I feel that it makes a contribution to the equation and cannot be ignored.
Kinda like this:
Adopt Focally = Have the kid
Adopt Foreign = Have the kid + feel good about saving someone from hardship
