The original owner of my vehicle paid $106,000 window sticker in 1991. That included the gas guzzer tax, but not the CA 7% sales tax. $106K could have bought 4 really nice domestic vehicles. That price doesn't mean the SL is built/engineered 4 times better than other cars or that it will give 4 times longer service. I agree, for what they cost, you expect the very best. I love my car. It's an extraordinary vehicle with lots of character. I understand that Toyota Camry's are very reliable. But I can't imagine any car more ordinary or mundane.
