Agreed.

You get what you pay for. At that price, I'm sure you don't get pistons, IP or any crankshaft work.

To properly rebuild one of these engines to factory specs costs more than $2500. in parts.

Additionally, the comparison doesn't seem equal. Doesn't the price from Metric include a complete long block with head and IP?

It's not even remotely possible to consider a new head with valves, prechambers, guides and seals and a new bottom end for $2500.
