How do you remove the turbo cross over tube?

I need to remove the turbo cross over tube. I've got the bolts off where they come into the engine area #1 shown on the photo, and the part where it hooks up to the turbo, #2 on the photo. I can lift it from the engine area, but it's still sort of stuck on at the turbo end of it. Someone said there's a gasket between the two pieces at point #1, and it will fall or wiggle out on its own, once it's out, that will give me the room I need to take the crossover tube off, but it seems more like the gasket is welded on there. Anyone know how I can get that out? And can I reinstall it or must I get a new gasket?

Also, when I lift it up at the engine area, I can see all kinds of crud in there, like, ... lots of it. I'm sure it didn't come that way from the factory. How do I get that stuff out of there? I'm sure it'll eventually come back in over the years. Seems like there'd be something you could run through there to have it dissolve and burn off through the engine. Sort of like carb cleaner.

Thanks,
