This is weird
When my recent starting problems suggested a possible "FUEL System Bleed Down" I was told to keep cranking the engine a few times and it should start. Fearing I would kill the battery, I decided instaed to pump the gas pedal a number of times. As soon as I did that the engine kicked over immediately.
NOW, having told this to my mechanic, he is puzzled and maintains that pumping the gas pedal on a fuel injection system has no effect whatever. Yet it made all the difference in my case and what is more, the owners manual says to pump the pedal a couple of times in real cold wheather. I Am CONFUSED.
Would appreciate any comments regarding this matter.
Thanks, Dieter
