That saying is for people that can't fix ANY car. I paid $2400 for my first wagon- put some elbow grease into it, cleaned it up and drove it for three years. I sold it underpriced for $4000. I've repeated this pattern with success. If you want a perfect car, buy a new one- but that's a sure fire way to throw money away.
