What do you mean about the "pedal cluster"?

With mine, when I leave a standing start briskly....it leaves two very distinct black lines in it's wake.
and yours is a 280sl?

The pedal cluster is the assembly that bolts to the firewall and includes the pivots for the brake pedal and the master cylinder bolts to it. If the car is a stick the clutch pedal will be attached also. I ask because I would want to install a stick so would need a clutch pedal, etc.
