As I wait to get my shop manuals for my 87 300E, I want to change out my radio antenna. The car came with a new antenna mast, so I removed the old one by running the radio and pulling out the broken mast. However, I believe I need to get the antenna assembly out in order to get to the leftover pieces of the mast that are caught inside. Is there a nut under the 2nd rubber "grommet" that surrounds the mast outside the car? Also, does the side trim panel in the trunk just pop out, or do I have to disconnect any other clips or panels to get it out and get access to the antenna assembly? Thanks for your help!
