Not too sure now...

Okay, here’s what I figured out about “Citysearch” and the winner of their top honors; German Independent.
I’ve written to the “The Best of Citysearch” people to find out what the process is to nominate and vote for an auto repair shop to their top honors. I figured that there’s enough folks in this and other forums to call in to support Enriquez’s Mr. MB as the best shop in So. Cal.
After several attempts and no responses from these folks, I started reading in depth to dig up some info on their process to choose and crown a shop as #1.
The nominees are chosen by the editors of “Citysearch” and not by customers. It appears that the nominees are chosen, not by merits accrued for outstanding technical and customer service but from a list of paying advertisers – this sucks.
In my opinion this is a well controlled racket. It is not a true unbiased open “competition” of repair shops chosen by the general populous.
I don’t want to diminish German Independent’s reputation because I’m sure they have a loyal following, but upon reading some of their reviews, they have a few strikes against them from unsatisfied folks for very poor customer service. For now, I will put away any notions of having a back-up shop. I will continue to go exclusively to Mr. MB until Enrique decides to retire.
I guess I wanted Mr. MB to receive all the recognition he has very well earned and rightly deserves.
