If the oil is coming in through the
headgasket, you run the risk of a
hydrolock which will probably bend
a connecting rod and cause other
problems - none of which are cheap.
I recommend finding the cause of the
oil usage. I am not a mechanic but
I would think that a thorough compression
test would be a good start.
My 300SD uses 0 quarts between 2500-mile
changes. At one time (about $8,500 ago)
it used 1 quart per 1,000, then 1 quart per
700 miles, etc.
