It would be nice to have the new hose ready to go on when you remove the old one. It is also nice to have a helper standing by, so you don't get stuck having to hold your finger over the hose nipple to keep your fuel tank from emptying itself in your driveway.
And don't expect that old hose to come off without complaint.
