I guess you could go to MB with your title/registration and get a new ignition lock and key. Won't be cheap, but hopefully you're not the one footing the bill. When my car was broken into two years ago, the passenger side door lock was damaged by a screwdriver. The insurance picked up the tab for the matched lock. So presumably you could pick up a complete lock and key set matched to your car from MB (with the appropriate amount of money!)
