In the late 40's and early fifties we watched the serialized old westerns on Sat mornings: Tim Holt, Hoot Gibson, Bob Steele, Tim McCoy, Tom Mix, Tex Ritter, and Sky King etc. Then there were the non-westerns such as Don Winslow of the Navy, Tom Corbett Space Cadette, Hap Harrigan, Big Jon & Sparky, plus many silent B&W cartoons (like Flip the Frog). Have not seen any of these in probably 50 years.
