I finally got the 5 acres book.....saw that dumbwaiter figure you mentioned. I can't even imagine having something like that in your house.
I liked the relatively simple cistern plans and filtering system for rainwater. Greenhouse sketch too. Took me some time to track down the corresponding text to each figure though.
