My '96 E320 has one in its vestigal toolset. Seems some wheels are easier to put on and line up the holes than others. On my brother's 190E 16v with OZ wheels, you almost need the tool. Otherwise, the bother of using it only just offsets the bother of holding the wheel there with your foot as Chas H mentioned.
