Thanks for the common sense feed back. That's exactly what I was looking for. An experienced driver will be smoother and get some more miles out of the tires.

Can you talk more about the Brigestone v. Yokohama differences? The Yoko wins in the Tire Rack testing when you only look at the performance tests. (see my link above).

Reading the user reviews on Tire Rack's site, I couldn't find one review saying the Yoko's were bad, but a few reviews on the Bridgestones said they had sidewall problems and a couple other little things. A vast majority of people loved them, though not 100%. Has anyone had problems with these high performance Bridgestones?

Also, since these tires are in a more agressive catagory than the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3's that I used on my last car, how would they compare to those? I know they won't work in the rain as well, but on a dry track how should the "seat of the pants" experience change in braking and cornering?

And since I will be using them for both autocross and track days, does that make any one tire choice stand out above another?

I don't think our club has any rules about tires, it's pretty much drive what you got. You're probably thinking along the lines of SCCA autocross or something more official/regulated.
