If you, err, your friend Joe lived up north in the winter, he'd have to stuff a big drum of washer fluid in the trunk. Driving in the snow and slop up there, you almost have to use the washer as much as the wiper(s). Apart from that, ie. down here or in the summer up there, I really don't use the washer much. If the windshiled is dirty enough that I need to clean it, the whole car needs to be cleaned.

I do use Rain-X a lot, which minimizes even bugs sticking to the windshield. I've had several people now have suggested the Rain-X washer solvent, but my first thought was "I don't use the washer enough for that to make any difference."
