You left out suspension work on the 240D.
Looking at your sig line, it looks like you know modern MB Diesels as well as anyone. The 2.5 won't feel a lot more modern than the 240D compared to the rest of your fleet.
3 common sources of engine oil leaks are front cover of vacuum pump (if it doesn't have exposed screw heads), front crank seal, head gasket by #1 exhaust runner.
