Traveling alot so just catching up. The pigtail i referenced is just the electical cord coming out of the ETA. If it was replaced and the Cruise control is operational - you are good to go.

When I rebuilt my harness and ETA wiring, it made a world of difference. I suspect once you drop a nickel on the replacement harness you will be fine aside from a few minor items.

Look around the forums, I know there ae several DIY's on installing the replacement harness yourself. Even if its not the same model year, the basic procedure is the same and the tips and tricks will help you figure out how to turn a bowl of spaghetti into a beautifully running car. Your heritage should help ye there.
