What makes W126 500 Euro motor PING?
It's not the gas. Only use the high octane Chevron. Car does not run hot. When I first got the car, it only did it in full throttle, and since I decided it was better not to floor it, I let it slide. But a few weeks ago, it started doing it on light throttle in 2nd and third gear. I have the timing set @ 5 BTDC with vacuum line disconnected @ 600 rpm. Anybody run in to this? Can super lean condition cause this perhaps? Got me stumped. I'm getting ready to replace the distributor.
