May be I am missing something but will your wife always have the gun in a holster when kicking back around the house when you are not there? Sounds unlikely that she would have had the gun at the ready when someone decides to hop the fence at 11:30 PM.

Seems a dog would have been a much more ready and appropriate defense.

I suppose since everyone else has guns why not right? I just hope no one gets killed in the process.
