The benefit to the Feds is that they bring the "prostitution" into the trial, in similar manner to the way this individual brought it into this article, and the jury is not capable of separating the Federal crimes from the crime of prostitution.

The Feds manage to obtain a conviction and get a long prison term for a crime that the person did not commit.

It's a sad state of affairs when the Federal government can indict and convict a person for a state crime.
I believe this is how a lot of the Klansmen from the sixties were finally brought to justice, wasn't it? Still, it's scarey to see the law used this way.
