I have an article from an issue of Special Interest Autos that goes deeply into the subject pf the Pogue--200mpg carburetor. The Pogue device was an actual device, but never achieved anywhere near 200mpg--that was a claim by some newspaper guys, and it stuck.
The article concluded that "some people want to be taken advantage of"
They even addressed the reports and suggestions that "oil companies" bought up the patents, and rejected them based on interviews with Mr. Pogue, himself.
It is interesting to see this same stuff come up again, and again.
