If you ever had a front wheel drive vehicle, it was a transmission/ axle noise (motor noise, not grinding). It went away in about 5 seconds of driving off.

There was quite a bit of heat after my drive, but it was about 80 out, and I was running the A/c, it has a small engine compartment...
