True, but independent trucker better figure out how to pass on their costs as well, or they will be ex-truckers. Demand might be reduced if some freight moves away from trucks to rails, or if cost causes people to buy more locally produced goods.
$4-5 diesel is still pretty cheap compared to the rest of the world.
