Diesel is now only $0.40 higher than 93 premium, which the Audi needs. Even though diesel is more expensive, the increased fuel economy offsets this. Fuel per mile for the Merc is $0.14 and $0.22 for the Audi.
If there is sentimental value in your MB, don't sell it quite yet.

A4 would be too small for my needs. I would consider and A6 if I got a deal but I really want an A8L.
