I live in Guatemala and when I moved here back in 2000 I lost the spare key to the benz 190 that I brought with me. Went to the local dealership here and they ordered it from Germany. Paid 30 euros for it, that was when the exhange rate was about .90 and it took a month to get. Got ripped off but, needed to have that spare key. Last thing that I wanted was to have to leave the car parked for 30 days when and if I ever lost the only key that I had.

But if Nigeria is like Guatemala, along with the VIN, I used the registration of the car, to take along with you proof of ownership of the vehicle, otherwise, if it is a scrupulous dealership, they will not order the key for you.
