Exactly.
I've done it several times - you will need about 3 feet of total extension length, a u joint, and a regular length socket. Work from under the car, and "feel" the bolt head with your fingers if possible as you get the socket close.
It works even better if you have a skinny-armed helper guide the socket on while you work the ratchet handle. There are actually 2 "top" bolts which are level with one another - 1 on the drivers side, 1 on the pass side. 10 bolts total.
