I personally did saw off the front of mine. It seems to run better, but then again I'm not all that good at telling because I haven't tested my engine all-around much yet either. Only thing I'm concerned about right now is possible rain or something getting up in there, but then again I remember reading several other people's comments of them sawing off theirs too.
