Although these new Diesels have more power, lower emmisions and lower fuel consumption, we won't be able to fix them ourself. Initial service will only be at MB dealers from $70 to $130 an hour. I try not to purchase a car that is beyond my capability to repair.

So guess I am relegated to the 300SDs and SDLs. I wonder if the CDi will be as reliable as the all iron 300SD?

But I am glad to see MB bringing back Diesels in the US. I thought the Diesels would never be back after the '88 hiatus but they came back then and it looks like they are coming back again now.
