I use both when possible, If I need to use jackstands I'll back it up with a Jack (not very redundant I know, but better than no backup)

No matter what I am doing, I always get the car up, get it set, then use **2 hands** and all my upper body to pull on the car in 2 directions with all my strength (front-back and side to side). I'll even attempt to "wiggle" it off the stands or ramps as if someone had vibrated the floor and if there is any motion, then I check/re-set the stands or ramps.

Some of the few things I am 100% serious about are gun safety and working under lifted cars.
