automatics dont have flywheels...
They have a flex plate which is attaches to the torque converter.
The flywheel on a manual is balanced.
Converting a 240D auto to manual is fairly straight foward. No changes need to be made. However converting a 300D manual is a lot of work. You need to modify the driveshaft or get hold of a euro 300D and pull the manual tranny parts of it.
