Hey guys,
The front end of the compressor moves regardless of where to temperature dial is set ( think this is how you turned the a/c on is these benz wasn't it?) Anyways with no buttons turned on and the fans off the front of the ac compressor moves with the back regardless of where I put the temp at and whehter the a/c is on or not...shouldn't it engage and disengage? What does this indicate I need?
Are you saying that the pulley is turning or the compressor is on all the time? The pulley always turns and the clutch on the compressor connects the compressor to the pulley when you turn on the AC. If the compresssor is turning all the time, with the AC off, pull off the wire that goes to the clutch and see if it disengages - if it doesn't, you have a bad clutch. If it disengages, you have an electrical problem.
