To put all doubt to rest about engine/oil tempuratures, use an Infra-Red temp. sensor. Just point the red dot at what ever area you want to check. can be set to C or F temp readings.

I thought I was having high temps with my new engine, changed the temp sensor/ t-stat, temp gauge in dash. then bought a Sears Infra-Red and put all fears to rest.

The coolant radiator and the oil cooler radiator both work the same way, they both have a thermostat. the oil cooler has the T-stat in the bottom of the filter housing. It is a wax pellet type T-stat.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
3) Not nearly enough power!! 240D w/auto

Anyone that thinks a 240D is slow drives too fast.
