Price sounds reasonable, not a great bargain, but good nonetheless.
It's not slow compared to the 240D or 300D. In fact, it might seem a bit peppier than your '83, and will definetly handle better.

Get a PPI, and figure out exactly why the engine was replaced. If the tranny is shifting *perfectly*, there's no need to worry about it.
