Fuel leak and fuel filter change

Hey guys, I have discovered a fuel leak in the supply hose(believe thats what it is called). It's the hose that runs out of the firewall to the primary filter. Mine is a white filter but the replacement one I have is clear. My question is, is there anything special I need to do? Or can I just unscrew the hose and replace it and pop the new filter in without priming the pump or anything else? I only run diesel and at the most B5 if it's available. So I am using a hose I bought from Advance. It's made in the USA and it says 30r6 on it.
The clear filter I bought from Fastlane.
