The bus fleet in this college town burns university-brewed biodiesel, and they smell like something dying in a landfill when they blast past you on the road. I'd be the first to admit that oil quality probably isn't their foremost concern... I think I'd rather smell the commonly cited used up differential oil being burned, than whatever the stuff they're using for bio-d is.
#2 smells good to me, sort of sweet and very pleasant. I may be biased because I like the smell of #2, idk. The bio I smell around here burning definitely doesn't smell like delicious cooking french fries. More like slowly rotting ones.
