Pretty much a bullet proof ignition lock on Mercedes..If you have a mechanical lock it is imperative to get the key into the run position, then the cylinder can be easily removed..then the chore is only removing the lock cylinder and replacing it...

twiggle and wiggle the key while turning it... Jiggle the wheel...Swear like hell... IF you can get it into the run position, pull the positive battery cable and leave the key where it is... lotsa info on removing lock cylinders here...

If it does not turn to run position lock/ignition switch will have to be removed with the armstrong method.. not cheap...cost me about 600 when my lock stopped turning on my 380SE...

There are howto's on how to do that yourself but beyond my desire to do....

Find a good independant Mercedes shop... talk with them...

Do you have more than one key?... Try the other... Maybe that might work, though probably not..
