The only brake fluid colors I know of are amber, clear, blue and gold. If yours is green you probably have an algae bloom in the fluid. That's the answer I've heard before. Your fluid absorbs moisture and that moisture can actually support algae growth in some cases.

Flush your fluid and you should be fine.
