I have an '84 500SL Euro, see signature, that has a diagnostic plug on the middle of the L fender well but have no information on it's 9 contacts as I've been unable to locate a shop manual for this car.

What does the plug test, what devices can access it's information, where can such devices be gotten, and what readings are correct ?

I'm hopeful that some ABS info may be obtained this way as my dash light stays on after it's initial test, but is initially off at startup.
