No, the radiator is still there. In fact, I had enough trouble getting the fan off (which is still on) that we decided to go directly to the bolts holding the waterpump to the housing. I was planning to deal with removing the fan afterwards. The bolts holding the waterpump itself to the housing are out, but the fan and belt mount are still on.

I did consider taking the housing off, but I wanted to leave that as a last resort.
