I need to replace the u-joint on my 87 300E. I've done a lot of research and I'm just not sure where to turn. I've thought about going with a used drive shaft. But I am concerned about whether it will still be balanced. I assume the drive shaft is balanced as a set. If it's split apart I assume it must go back together in the same position. Is the drive shaft marked in some fashion?

The other option is to purchase a rebuilt unit. I've see several shops selling rebuilt units. Any advice on where to purchase?
