I think I'd find a nice 280te wagon or a 280e sedan. Preferably a manual, then I'd go spend the rest on gas, repairs, and speeding tickets while I had fun with it. Or I'd find an old SL, but 10k might not be enough for that.

Horrors, I'd buy a gasser I'd like to have at least one MB gasser....gotta mix it up a little.
