The stock 9004 bulbs come with a 45/65 wattage rating. If you but some aftermarket bulbs, be careful of the wattage specs. I am running the stock 55/60 watage H-4 bulbs on my 190 2.3-16. I dont want to burn up the headlight wiring on my 13 yr old car. When it comes time for inspection, I remove the european headlights and put back a set of the newer style headlights with the 9004 bulbs. The difference in lighting is night and day for the us spec vs the euro spec headlights. I would like to upgrade the h-4 bulbs to say 55/100, however I am a little concerned about melting the factory wiring and connectors. Hope this helps, Joe
